Family Weekend

My Uncle Kenny, cousin Jamie, and her son Coleton came down to Texas from Massachusetts to visit. My uncle Carlos, aunt Tricia, and cousin Marisa came in from San Antonio also. My aunt Lilly and uncle Donald came down from Conroe. They are all on my mom's side of the family. We spent the weekend together hanging out and cruising around the lake on my dads boat. I had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with my family.

1st Annual Music Unity Freedom Festival

Our friends/ favorite band Elbodo played on the beach at the first ever music festival on Poretto Beach in Galveston this past weekend. Rex and I went to check it out and enjoy the beautiful day with our friends.

While this guy was playing his son ran up to him so he held him while he played. It was awesome and adorable at the same time. I think I may have shed a few tears.

Rodeo Chili Cook-off

Every year my dad is part of a Houston Rodeo Chili Cook-off team called the Star of Texas Cooking Team. I look forward to it every year because we always have the best time. My dad gets a hotel room so we get really drunk and don't have to worry about traffic or drinking and driving.

My 24th Birthday!

Yesterday was my 24th birthday!

I woke up early and watched the sun rise over Clear Lake.

It was truly the most beautiful sunrise..

As I sat there I thanked God for another year of life. I thanked him for my wonderful family and boyfriend. I thanked him for the beautiful day ahead of me. I took it all in and thought about the past year. I thought about all the good times and happy memories with my friends and family. I thought about all the mistakes I had made and all the things I wish I could do over. I thought about my future and what I hoped to do with the rest of my life.

After that I went back to my apartment and grabbed the dogs and took them for a walk.

I really love the little lake we have here at our apartments. What a view!

Even the animals knew it was valentines day.

That night we had dinner at the yacht club...

followed by cake at our apartment...

And after that, we went to see Less Than Jake at Warehouse Live! But I didn't take any pictures of that.

#50

Now I can cross off number 50 from my list now - Tie Dye!

I grabbed anything white I could find.

Here's how everything turned out. Four shirts, two pillow cases, shorts, socks, and undies.

They faded after I washed them, but I think they look pretty awesome!
I can't wait to do it again!!

# 53

First thing I can cross off my list of 100 things is number 53 - visit a children's museum.
Since we don't have any kids and we can't take Arrie, we asked Rex's nephew Mason if he wanted to spend the day with us at the Houston Children's Museum. He did so off we went!
Right when you walk in, there's a phone monster made from hundreds of old phones. It was so cool!

Mason being silly in the grocery store [my favorite part]. He grabbed this loaf of bread just to take it over to the diner [his favirite part] so they could have more things to eat. haha. He is so sweet and funny.

Lifting himself up with a simple machine - the pulley. He is really super-strong!
IMG00479-20110206-1435.jpg
Mason and uncle Rex!

There was tons of stuff to do and things to see. I'm so glad we got to take him somewhere so cool! If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have a reason to be at the children's museum, so thank you Mason [and Rex]!

New Years Day In Galveston

Rex and I went to the beach and met up with our friends Leah and Michael and their adorable daughter Emmy. We ate at The Spot and it was delicious! The Spot totally hits the spot.
