Bunco: Circus Style

My mom's been playing Bunco since I can remember. Once a month her group gets together to play and this month my mom hosted a circus/carnival themed party. My sister and I were there to help of course. We made caramel apples, cupcakes, pretzels, popcorn, cookies, sausage on a stick, hot dogs and burgers. But I only took pictures of the apples.

Five On Friday

1. My sister comes back tonight!!

2. T minus three days until I'm on the beach for a week of good wholesome family fun.

3. If I don't get my period next week I could be pregnant!

4. I'm so tired of my clothes. I feel like I never have anything to wear.

5. After a week of having an ugly yellow donut on my car I finally fixed the flat.

Eye Infections Suck

I had to take out my contacts and be blind all day because it looks like I have an eye infection. But I'm not going to the doctor or getting steroids. I'm just gonna leave it alone and let my body take care of it on its own. I layed down with a cold compress and that helped a little.

Let Me Tell You 'Bout My Best Friend

Some people may think it's weird that my best friend is a guy. But I would not have it any other way. Growing up my best friend was the boy who lived next door. We didn't "like-like" each other. We were just neighbors who spent all our time together and had sleepovers on the weekends. In middle school and high school I had girl best friends but I always preferred to hang out with the guys. There's something about being around guys that makes me feel more comfortable with myself. After high school my best friend was my boyfriend at the time and we had a third-wheel/best friend Edgard that we did everything with. Well after that relationship ended I continued my friendship with Edgard and we got really close. He was there for me when my other friends were too busy to call or hang out. He knows me better than anyone. Rex knows mostly everything but there's just some stuff you can only tell your best friend. I wouldn't change that friendship for anything and I hope we continue to be good friends and maybe one day our children's children will be best friends too, who knows.

So this morning I posted this status and immediately received these texts. We are hilarious.

One Week

In one week I will be on my way to crystal beach for the fourth.

In one week I will spend the week with my family. My girl cousins, aunt and granma are coming in from Austin. My cousin Sean and his family are coming for a few days. My sister will be back a few days before we go out there. My parents will be there with their dog. My brother and his family will be there. My husband and I will be there with our two dogs. My other Granma may come and possibly my uncle who's moving down from Massachusetts.

It's gonna be so much fun. Just like when we were kids.

I cannot wait til Monday!

Sunday Night Supermoon

Tonight we went over to our friends house.  When I got there I played with their kids outside for a little while the food was cooking. They barbecued chicken and corn and made the best potato salad. After the kids went to sleep we hung out on the porch under the beautiful bright moon.

I was watching the today show and saw this. I instantly knew that I needed to look into getting one or at least find a place that has one. I'm getting one as soon as I can afford it... and have the space for it.

Five On Friday

1. Rex is coming back tonight!! I'm so happy. I mised that guy so much.

2.  My sister left a week ago to spend time with her boyfriend and I'm ready for her to come back. It really sucks not having her here, my parents being out of town and my husband working out of town. It's lonely.

3. My friend Cristen is spending the weekend housesitting for her mom in Pearland. She's going to be so close to us so we have to go see them and the baby.

4. We are spending the fourth of July holiday at a beach house with my cousins. Hurry up June!

5. I've been blogging every day for the last six months. My goal is to blog every day for a year.

International Surfing Day

Unfortunately, we didn't have good waves in Gaveston today so we didn't make it down to the beach to surf. Hopefully this weekend something comes in and we can go out and catch some waves.

Dogsitting

My parents went to Miami for a week so I got stuck dogsitting their Yorkie Honey. It's only fair since they watch my dogs for me every time I go out of town. I just hate that this little dog thinks she can sleep on my pillow. I'm not okay with that.

Sariah Alexis

Today I finally went to see baby Sariah, my best friends little princess. I forgot to take my camera with me so I'm gonna try to go back again one day this week to snap a few before she grows too much. She was asleep so we went in to see her sleeping. I got close to her and said, "wake her up". As soon as I did she opened both her eyes and made a cute crying noise for a second then closed her eyes again. It was so cute. It was like she heard me and understood what I said at less than a week old. She's gonna be a smart one.

Emily and Emma Lee

My brother's ac went out at his house again yesterday so he and his family stayed the night at my parents house last night. Today I helped my mom clean out her classroom and move some stuff into storage. So after that we went back to the house to hang out with my nieces. My mom and I babysat so my brother and SIL could go out and get some rare alone time. 

Father's Day

This morning I met my parents, their friends Ruben and Kristen, their son Andrew, and my brother and his family at the Lakewood Yacht Club for brunch. Madison was being so adorable. I love her so much!

I took Madison to the bathroom and after we washed our hands she started dancing with her reflection. It was so cute! Then My SIL came in and didn't appreciate me letting her stand on the counter. But that's the beauty of being an aunt, I can let her do what she wants and it's ok.

After brunch we went back to my parents house to hang out. Everyone else took a nap so Madison and I played connect four.

He's Leaving Again

It's starting to get ridiculous.

My husband has to go out of town for work. After the last time I didn't think he would have to do it again so soon.

We spent as much time together as we could and then he was gone.

I miss him already.

Mya's New Friend

Our neighbor got locked out of his apartment. He had his nephew with him so we invited them in for water and ac. The little boy sat down on the couch first and then Mya came up behind him and straddled him. It was the cutest thing.

Happy Birthday Sariah Alexis!

At 11:12 this morning my best friend Edgard and his girlfriend welcomed their daughter to the world. She weighed in at 5 pounds, 15 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. I can't wait to meet her.

The big D, and I do mean Dallas

On the way back home we stopped in Dallas and walked around a little bit. We stopped at Wild Billy's western store and I sat on the most beautiful ottoman. Then we ran into a statue of Elvis then a giant pair of glasses. After an hour we left and headed back down south. We stopped again in Corsicanna and had some food at Chili's then were back on our way home.

Congrats Allison and Jonathan!

Rex and I took a trip up to Denton for his cousin Allison's wedding. We had a great time with his family. So much that I didn't take many pictures. Here's the few I did manage to snap.

Five on Friday

1. I don't wear makeup. Not always, sometimes I will wear it for special occasions. But I definitely feel more comfortable without it.

2. I'm happy with my body but not with my health/the way I eat. I want to eat better so I can be healthy.

3. The main reason I want to be healthy is so I can have a baby. I don't want to have an unhealthy baby so I need to be healthy and that means eating right and exercising daily.

4. I wish Rex would be more supportive of my health and the future of our unborn child. He's supportive but not as much as I would like him to be.

5. I love my hair but I really need to figure out a more efficient way to curl it. I'm considering getting a want and curlers and trying that out but It doesn't seem like it would be any quicker or easier. Dang.

My Job.

In July it will be one year since I started working downtown with Troy. For the most part I like my job. But some days I hate it. I'm an assistant which pretty much means bitch. I have to do whatever I'm told to. I understand all jobs are like that. I know that. But I also know I don't like it and don't want to be doing it forever. One day I would like to be my own boss and own my own company.

The pros of my job are that I don't have to wake up extremely early and fight traffic, he pays for my lunch and pays me to eat lunch, I don't work overtime or have to stress over anything.

The cons are I don't have health insurance, he doesn't take out taxes, sometimes I have to do stuff I don't want to do.

This is all random venting. I'm glad I have a job and I'm thankful I have a cool boss.

Ladies Night

My mom and sister picked up my niece Madison and met myself and my grandmother at the Olive Garden for dinner. Four generations of beautiful woman enjoyed a meal while remembering an important woman who could not be there. On Friday it will be one year since my aunt Lilly passed away. I know she would have been there eating with us if she could. After eating we walked over to a nearby strip center and my wonderful grandmother bought me and my sister a few things. It was a lovely time.

Morning DG sesh

Mark called up Rex this morning and asked if we wanted to get a game of disc golf in before work today. We grabbed breakfast and headed down to Jack Brooks Park with all three of the dogs, Mark made sure to bring the essentials (water and beer) and McGyvered his disc bag into a portable cooler. At the second hole Emma came out of the woods without her collar on. She lost it here again. I tried to look for it but gave up. 

We stopped and took a break under some trees to cool down. The dogs were dying. It was really hot.
