This is our dog pack. The two boys were Rex's and the two girls were mine. But now they're all ours.
I got Emma in 2007, a few days before my twentieth birthday. My sister and I were driving home from my dads office and we saw a sign that said 'dalmatian puppies'. We had a dog at the time but we stopped to look anyways. It was a nice old lady with a few small puppies and two dalmatian puppies in the bed of her truck. As soon as I saw Emma I knew I had to have her. She was just sitting there with the cutest black spot over one of her eyes (looking back now I should have gotten both of them). I asked the lady "how much" and she said "$75". I wasn't working at the time since I was in school and I knew my parents wouldn't buy a puppy for me so I called my boyfriend at the time and convinced him to buy me a puppy for my birthday that was a few days later. I picked up the money from him and went back to pick up my new puppy. Once I had her in my arms I was in love! She was beautiful, calm and so sweet. She laid on my lap the whole way to Petsmart where we went to get her a collar, leash, toys and food. I took her home and hid her from my parents for two days.
A year after I got Emma my parents got Mya. They were really sad after their dog passed away so they got a new puppy from one of my dads clients. When she turned out to be bigger and more energetic than they expected they wanted to get rid of her. My dad called the city pound and made an appointment to take her in the following Tuesday. I was so attached already so I could not let him take her. Tuesday morning I put her in my car and drove to my best friends house and begged her to take care of my puppy for me until I got my own place. Thankfully she did! She took care of my Mya Bear for five months until I got my first apartment.
Rex got Otis in 2006 while working in Arkansas. He was remodeling a motel and the owners had a small dog in the backyard. Otis was outside in a tiny fenced-in area with no shade and no water. He was dirty and his hair was all matted and dreaded. On his last day on the job Rex decided he had to rescue the little guy. He grabbed him and wrapped him in a towel.and headed back to Texas. He looked old but when they went to the vet it turned out that he was just a puppy. Rex and him have been best friends ever since.
Lucky is the youngest one of the pack. Rex's mom rescued him from the side of the highway in Liberty while she was working out there. They tried to find him a good home but couldn't so they kept him. Most of the time he stays with Rex's parents but sometimes, if I'm lucky, he stays with us.
