Note To Self: Bring Plenty Of Blankets When Camping In January

Sunday morning I woke up at 5:45 after going to sleep at 2:30. It was so damn cold. I had barely slept through the night because I was so cold. We had two small fleece blankets but that was not sufficient. When I woke up I was so angry that I took it out on Rex. I yelled at him for forcing me to sleep outside. I yelled at him for not doing anything to make sure I was warm and comfortable. I told him not to touch me and I left the tent.

Since I couldn't go back to sleep I decided to explore the property. As I walked around I reflected on what had just happened. I felt really bad for waking my husband up by yelling. I was really angry at myself for not bringing enough blankets but I took it out on him for some reason. I hate that I do that to him. I have my own mind and make my own choices and he didn't physically force me sleep with him in a mesh tent in 45* weather. I made that choice for myself and the only person I can be mad at is myself.

I went back to our tent and apologized. He was so sweet. He said, "feeling better after your walk, huh?" He knows me so well. We sealed it with a kiss and all was good again.

I went into my aunts house and discovered my sister asleep on the couch. Apparently, she also didn't sleep well. We sat and talked about our horrible night and how we immediately woke up and blamed our men when we woke up uncomfortable. It's funny how much we are alike. We attempted to make coffee. I say attempted because we had some coffee filter issues since they had the cone shaped filters but a normal coffee maker. The smell (and noise) must have woken up my aunt and uncle and they came out and showed us exactly how to McGyver their coffee filters. We all sat around the kitchen table and chatted while sipping coffee and eating delicious kolaches. Real fruit kolaches, not that pigs in a blanket BS Shipley's calls a kolache.

After everyone else woke up we spent the day riding around on the gator and having a great time. I discovered that I had the ability to take panoramic pictures with my phone so I took a bunch of those. Of course, Rex is better at it than me. He has a sturdy hand, I'm too shaky.

On our way home we stopped to visit Rex's cousin and her cute little puppy, Sadie. I wish we had more time to hang but it was just a quick visit this time. I loved their house. It was so cute. I wanted to take pictures of it but I'm sure they would have thought that was weird.

Thank goodness Rex drove because I was so tired from lack of sleep the night before. We got in the car and I fell asleep. Next thing I know I'm home in my comfy bed. It was a great trip. We will definitely be going back to camp there again. But better prepared.
